A swap angel is someone who will jump in at the last minute and fill in for someone in a swap.
I have an idea of how to provide a list of swappers that are interested in being swap angels when the time arises and of a way for a swap hostess to "solicit" the need for a swap angel.
If you are wanting to be a swap angel, post a reply to this thread and/or monitor this thread.
For swap hostesses, that are needing swap angels ... you can simply post a request to this thread.
Be sure to paste in the URL of the swap that you are requesting an angel for. The angels can go view your swap and see if they are interested. Once the request is satisfied by a swap angel ... simply go back and "edit" your post indicating that a swap angel was found ... you can give recognition at the point if you choose.
KEagle: "I no longer see a need to maintain a list of swap angels. It really isn't necessary. If you are monitoring this thread, you will get notified when a swap angel is needed. Just contact the hostess of the swap needing the angel. I do think it is great how the swap hostesses have been coming back to this thread and thanking the person "angeling" for them."
Disregard the text below: I will be more than happy to "maintain" a list of swap angels and the number of times they have helped out ... so that fellow swappers can appreciate them when duty calls.
If you think this idea will work, simply post a reply if you are interested in being a swap angel.

Help! The midwest snowstorm is reeking havoc on my swap!
I desprately need an angel,(well now I need 3!!) preferably living in Idaho or Utah area, for a SAB swap!! The swap is due at my house by Christmas (which is why I'd like someone local); I am hoping to return the cards on 12/27.
The swap calls for 34 cards made with either the Garden Collage, Paint Prints, or All I've Seen SAB set. You can use anything out of the current IBC. (all supplies must be SU of course) I'd love a recipe and contact info on the back, but will let this slide since this is all very last minute.
In return you will receive approximately 6 different cards from EACH SAB set. (Except for Paint prints, we only have 4 players for that set) You will have AWESOME samplers just in time for SAB!!

You can go back and "edit" the post that you just made. When you edit, you can unlick the Notify box at any time.
We have not had a whole bunch of requests through this thread, so it is most likely not that annoying. If we were getting a few requests a day and you know that for the next 2 weeks, you absolutely can't be angelic ... then it might be best for you to un-notify yourself for a while. I don't think that will be too much of a problem.
