Nestie and Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Storage Solution!

I provided a tutorial on my blog today outlining how I store my Nestabilities, Cuttlebug embossing folders, and other die cuts and embossing folders. You can get pictures and information HERE. It's a system that I love because it's easily expandable as I accumulate stuff . . . something that the other systems have never allowed for without starting over from square one once I outgrew them. I hope this will help someone!

Wow- your storage solution is fabulous- wish mine was so neat and organized! I'll have to see if I can whip up something like that in the future.....for now mine are just in a small plastic tote where each Cuttlebug embossing folder can stand straight up and my Nesties sets are in their own individual ziploc bag too. It's really not that bad but I keep buying more stuff and need to expand soon! :mrgreen:

that would be so ideal right now I have my nesties in cd binders you can keep in your car. Keeps them all in one spot but kind of bulky.

Currently I keep my Sizzix Embossing plates in a recipe card holder.

And my Cuttlebug folders in one of those CM bags that hold their Custom Cutting System.

ok so like I have these already and I got them cuz of another thread showing where someone used them for unmounted stamps.. Here is the thing I LOVE this idea big time cuz the stamps make them sooooo bulky

BUT

I know I'm blonde and all........ but they are suppose to be JUST like ziploc baggies.. and every other pouch I cant get the "zip"to stay zipped and the whatever I have in there if small falls out.. any sugestions?

Hi Fran!

Some of my pockets don't zip either. But if you look at them, there's an inside lip that keeps whatever you've placed inside them from falling out. I don't mind that they don't all zip because it saves me from messing with it when it doesn't work right. Nothing has fallen out yet. Must be a flaw in production, but it hasn't affected my use for them. Hope this helps!!

I love the idea of using the Zip N Flip for my nesties! Currently I am using them to store my flowers. All brands and all sizes (except the 4" ones) organized by color! I am going to "try" to locate my spare Zip N Flips and put my nesties in them immediately! Thanks for the great idea!

I just received my spellbinder/nesties binder today from QVC it is a set of two magnetic binders for about $25.00 it is awesome. one binder holds 8 sets very slim and professional looking. Easy to take along to crops.

Wonderful storage system. Mine are stored in a drawer in my iris cart, and that works too (at least until I order one of those Zip and Flip).

Love this idea. I've ordered my zip and flips today. One idea I have and am going to try is for the larger embossing folders (5x7), I plan to try using a plastic page protector and seal on side of it in my food storage machine to at least make the folder a little snug. Hopefully it will work

Just curious for the people that do have this system, how do you like it? Pros/cons? I currently have my E.F. and nesties in a photo box and all my other die cuts (quick kutz, CB, etc.) in a big binder. Before I spend the $$$ on the zip-n-flips (I would need quite a few!!) I would like to know how others like it!!

I was looking and thinking and looking and thinking about how to store my spellbinder and cherry lynn dies, smaller sizix, and embossilts dies. I saw this post here and decided to try it. It worked really well for me. The magnetic vent cover sheets are pretty darn genius and cheap. I have a 3 inch 3 ring binder, that I have 2 of the Large zip n flips and 2 of the smaller 3x3 zip n flips. That pretty much fills the 3 ring binder. I don't have a ton of die cuts so this works perfectly for me. It stores on a shelf easily and is easy to flip through. I think a bigger binder may get kind of hard to handle when getting it up and down from any tall shelving. As far as the issue of not really closing, they are like most ziplock bags for me. I store the dies, the magnetic sheet, and I cut down the package label to fit inside the pocket. That gives me the name and a picture of what is inside. I only close off the edges of the zip n store and leave the very center open. It can be a little difficult getting them open when they are sealed tight. I am pretty darn happy with this system.

I have tried several different ways of storing EBFs and nothing seems to be just what i want so I decided to try this. Don't know if these are discontinued or not, but alot of the online stores listed the large size as "out of stock", "discontinued", or "no longer available". I was able to order, so I ordered an extra pack of each size and hope that it's just what I've been looking for.
I store my nesties in a 12x12 album that I had, added a 10x10piece of mat board with magnetic vent covers, and covered with a sheet of patterned paper. I store by design, holidays, circles, ovals, etc, and it's easy to flip through and just slide out the matboard.

I love the idea of zip and flips...well for sure the flips part. I'd like to put mine in 3-ring binders.

Like PinkKitty said, I'm finding that these are hard to find in all sizes.

Anyone have another source for them, or something similar?

My zip n flips have arrived. I have more EBs than I thought! Should have counted them. I ordered 3 sets and they are filled! I like the idea, but now not sure it is going to work for me. Looks like it will take up more space than I thought. But I do love the idea, and will certainly put them to good use.

I have stored my nestie sets on cardstock with magnetic strips, cut to fit the Tim Holtz storage folders. I put a set on each side and file them in a box and flip through for what I want to use. The storage folders are very firm and will hold up better than anything else I have tried. I am not going to collect so many nesties that I don't use them and I find that I only have one label set and that is enough with the ovals, rectangles, squares and circles I own.

What a fantastic Idea. I have my small dies in Collector card sheets, the kind for baseball cards and other such things, and all my embossing and cut and emboss folders and slightly larger dies in a CD wallet (the kind that has space for two cds one above each other) and then my nesting and other such dies are on magnet sheets in snap lock bags in a folder for now Will def have to keep my eye out for the stronger zip lock pouches fab idea

Has anyone purchased the Art Bin Magnetic Die Storage Case? If so, is there any certain way that you organize your dies in it? Label, etc?

Ok, first, since I had more EBs than I thought, and filled the zip-n-flips I had ordered and didn't want to invest in any more, and second, it was becoming a bigger footprint than I wanted, I decided to go another way on my storage. I have soooooooo many DCWV paper packs, that I decided to use one of the heavier sheet ones and cut them to 6x6. Then I embossed each sheet with folder, and put the embossed sheet in a clear 6x6 clear envie with the EB behind it. I made labels, and filed alphabetically in a basket, which is easy accessible and I can take it to my workspace. This is somewhat what I had been using, but not with the clear envies. 6x6 page protectors would work too, but that would mean more $$ spent when I already had the envies.
I will eventually get another jexmax cube with the 4 sq drawers and put them in there - saw that on here somewhere. I like the ones at ACM with the cloth baskets, which is where they were but I was outgrowing that, but not sure they are still available.
