Many of you will remember back in the day when we did not have those fabulous Nestabilities. Our image panels were generally square and bland. Then one day the nestabilities were born. Our images quickly turned to round and embossed and scalloped and and and.. you get the picture. Now we (most of us anyway) want them all. There are so many new shapes that it is mind boggling! If one wanted to own all of them, youd just about have to take a 2nd mortgage on your house.... j/k.
~ Faux Nesties ~
Well today were going to design our own other shaped image panels. Im going to ask you to refrain from using your nestabilities for this one and pretend you dont own any! Using any other means of punches or cutting, design your own shaped image panel.
For my card, I used the designer label punch, curvy label punch and a corner rounder. The possibilities are as endless as your imaginations!
Please be sure to include how you did your panel in your upload description!
This is a fun challenge and I know I will be back later today with another..here is the first one..I used the mega scalloped oval punch instead of the nestie
This sounds like fun. I am going to try it. I love these challenges because they make you try different things. I always get stuck in a rut, using same colors, same gagets etc. Thank you for this one.
What a REAL challenge, Holly!! I LOVE my Nesties!!! Over the years I've aquired a collection and do use them. I think Ellen Hutson introduced them to me on her blog several years ago.
After I finished my card, I realized that I had not followed directions carefully....you said "image panel" and I did a "backing panel". I promise to read (and absorb) more carefully next week.
Thanks!!!....I had to put on my thinking cap and use a lot of scrap paper to get mine!! : )
It's Spring here today!!! OK, so it's cold, but it's bright and sunny.
Took a break in the housework to make this in time for a daylight photo, but I need to wash the floors before I come and browse the gallery. Dishing Up Some Fish
Holly, what a fun technique. I had to really look through my corner punches to find one that would work well (I didn't just want a corner rounder). I finally used a Fiskars Squeeze corner punch. Here's my card --
I haven't been able to squeeze in a TLC challenge for quite a while, but I was really interested in giving this one a try since I don't have any kind of nestabilities or die cutting tools at all. I love the look, though, so I thought it would be a good use of time to try this out and also see what others come up with!!
Thanks for a cool (and very useful to me) challenge!!

This is a cool challenge...I'm going to have to think about it. Maybe Spellbinders will check her to see what their new nestabilities shape should be. Thanks for posting it.

I went with *freeform* frames for my images, which I have done before and liked the outcome. They turned out okay - I love looking at your creative, beautiful ideas!! GOLDEN TOES
Boy, I had to use things I haven't used in a while! I had to look for my scissors! We sure get spoiled with the nesties! Thank you so much for the challenge.
I combined it with Friday's Textures, colors & patterns.
Here it is: Rooster Birthday by smadson at Splitcoaststampers
It's official...I miss my nesties..The largest scalloped circle punch is tough to use. I used 3 different punches on this card...Thanks for looking
