MMTPT81 - THEY'RE OUTA CONFETTI, JUST BRING SOME SPAGETTI!
WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY AND CHALLENGE #81
THEY'RE OUTA CONFETTI, JUST BRING SOME SPAGETTI!
Note: Anyone is welcome to play! Also, you do not have to write a story. You just have to be inspired by the teapot or by the story about this week's location! Have fun!
This is my story!
1. Well, one would think we would be headed to New Orleans because its the place to be right now with the Saints winning the Superbowl and Mardi Gras following shortly after. And what about Fat Tuesday? It's quite famous and definately has a reputation to live up to but it's not all that! Heck, we have Fat Tuesday every Tuesday at our teaparties even though we try so hard to cut down on our sweet treats, chocolate and sinfully delicious sideline events! What's a teaparty without eating some fun stuff??
2. We did such a good job getting Rapunzle's new business off and running that word spread to New Orleans. We're headed to the home of Martie McGraw! With a name like Martie McGraw (Martie is short for Martha) I am sure you won't be surprised to hear that she gets large multitudes of confused people showing up at her place every year ready to partake in this famous event! Is this Mardi Gras? It's not? Well, are we in New Orleans? We are? Well, how do you get to Bourbon Street?
3. Martie has flat had it with these annual disruptions in her life but really doesn't see an end to it unless she moves and changes her name! She's beginning to think this is an opportunity presenting itself year after year! Why not make a little money off other people's confusion, stupidity and lack of direction? How hard could it be to throw a little party, a wild and wacky parade, spread a little confettie around? Piece of cake!! (Yah, Kings Cake!) She can even get her cousin Quick Draw McGraw to activate the liquor license he purchased and never used back when he tried to open up the first Drink and Draw franchise that never materialized when he was advised that putting guns and liquor under the same roof might get him sued!
4. So here's the plan, Roxanne. Roxanne is the Merchandising Rep. that told Martie that due to the Superbowl win on top of the annual Mardi Gras celebration, there's no more merchandise to be had! All 42,000 tons of trinkets has been sold to those yahoos up on Bourbon Street. They are even out of confetti! Well, that's where we come in. We need to bring some purple, green, and gold color to Martie's place along with doubloons (medallions), beads (lots of them), masks (all kinds), feathers (tickley ones!) dragon/snake like parade suits (fire breathing) wacky/goofy party costumes (the sky's the limit), confetti (just bring some spagetti!), balloons (not the kind you ride in!), wigs (curly and colorful) and sparkley embellishments (don't bring your diamonds cuz they might get stolen!!) You know, the whole Mardi Gras thing! Oh! And don't forget the most important thing! King Cake! To go with our tea!
There's really nothing you can bring that will require you to come in the backdoor. Yah, its that kinda Teapot Tuesday!
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT81 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Ever want to get a jump on next week's challenge card? I am posting a sneak peak (tea peek) on my blog each week showing you a glimpse of the following week's teapot as well as a hint of the story! It's at the end of the Teapot Tuesday Post each week. I usually post it a couple days after the Tuesday Challenge is posted. So, be sneaky and get a jump on the other tea-potters! Snort!
If you are confused about these challenge, see the first sticky post of this thread for more information. There is also a directory of individual challenges

Cool!! Had to go and look up that King Cake. Man, I ain't never seen anything like that before. I read that it says it came with the French and Spanish, but oh my, it's nothing like the cake the French make to celebrate Epiphany. It underwent some major transformation when it moved from celebrating the Three Kings to Mardi Gras, that's for sure.
I'll get my thinking cap on at work and see what I can come up with when I get home.
But Cindy, you are not seriously suggesting that spaghetti would be a better option than confetti, are you? Is Bertie back from holidays yet, because if so I will definitely NOT bring spaghetti.

Huh? Whachoo talkin' 'bout, Sabrina? Are you suggesting that I, Bertie, would fling noodles at my fellow tea partiers? ;-) You aren't skeered of me, are ya?

Well, I had to think of sumthin' that rhymed with confetti! Besides, it could be such fun! Just think about the giggles when roping your teapotter friend with a big ole long noodle! Snort!
As you can see, Bertie won't have any trouble wrapping her head around that one!
When I saw the spaghetti, it made me think of my youngest son's favorite book when he was little. Here is a quote from it. " I love spaghetti. I love it, I love it, I love it, I do. More than me? More than you!!! It had two little monkeys who wanted to eat nothing but spaghetti. I know this is a little off topic, but I could just see Bertie and Gertie getting into a food fight with the monkeys and that spaghetti flinging everywhere.
Bring on the Beads!!
Welcome to Mardi Gras! Pass the King Cake .... no, no ... go ahead and pass it along ... Just be careful when you "bite" into it! ;)
Here's my chicka birthday card ... with "feathered' ribbon, and golden gems ... not real of course, due to the "possibility" of pocket-pickin' non-do-gooders in the streets, mind you!
Teapot Challenge Virgin here! Tossin' out the beads! :-D

Hee! Funny you should say that.....Bertie is back from vacation and well, let's just say flinging is still her thing...also I must say Gertie is pretty good at stuffin' sketti up her nose! The only thing we are lacking is the monkeys...
Hey, that makes me think....we need to go to a teaparty at a zoo! Whoo Hoo! Love your little kid story Marilynn!

By the time I got mine completed, Martie was more than ready to join the party. I got her a fancy costume and a big date. No back door for her - she would never fit!
Happy Birthday to the other February birthday girls. Hope the weather is going to be nice for you to celebrate! I'm headed out to Rhode Island to my neice's wedding shower for my birthday! Anyway, here's my card.

Happy Birthday Zgirlsgranny , JamiePTS and Barbarar20. Yesterday was a crazy day at work and I didn't get to finish the card that was going on in my head. I did add it to the teaparty gallery today. I hope to find time to look at everyone's creations. Here is my MARDI GRAS card.
Still partying Mardi-Gras style down here in Texas!
The colors have stuck to my stampin' table like Mardi Gras beads desperate to be seen ... so I let'em play again. ;) Goodness knows we could use a big dose ofcolor now & then!! Step clear of those parade floats everyone!
Oh, my my. Hope I haven't missed all the festivities by showing up so late this week. Sigh.
My card was inspired by shucked oysters on Bourbon Street (yuk), so I brought pearls to make that nasty sense memory go away! Thanks for the challenge, MM! Always a delight to travel afar with the tea partiers every week!

The cards in the challenge are just beautiful! I didn't have time to play this week, however, I did take a pic of my son on Fat tuesday! Hope this sorta counts!
