Peggy (marilynprestonn) received a gorgeous card from her niece Aja featuring a beautiful piece by the artist Ert. She thought his art would be a great Inspiration Challenge, and I agree.
The Russian-born painter Romain de Tirtoff, who called himself Ert after the French pronunciation of his initials, was one of the foremost fashion and stage designers of the early twentieth century. I loved this quote of his, "A resourceful woman who is almost downright plain can achieve the reputation of a beauty simply by announcing to everybody she meets that she is one." Ert captured the beauty of women in his art.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many choices, I have uploaded three of my favorites so just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. For the rest of you, remember to link us up to the item from Echo that inspired you.
Use the keyword: IC218 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery on this thread. Thank you for joining me on this inspiration journey.
What a great site to get inspiration from. Found mine and I have the perfect stamp to use! Hope to play tomorrow after my DGS's basketball game. Thanks for a great challenge Stef.

Wowo, I just went through his gallery and there is a lot to see. I think I have settled on the one I will use for my inspiration but I spent so much time looking that I noticed my muse has fallen asleep and is snoring loudly on the couch. So I guess the card will have to wait till tomorrow. Great choice for an inspiration!
On No! I am ever in my element now! After spending $87.500.00 on page one alone, I dont know if I'll be able to play in the challenge. I'll be crunching numbers all day tomorrow trying to figure out how to pay for all these beyond gorgeous Erte bronze pieces. Peggy and Stef, I am totally awed by Erte. Thanks to both for such an exciting challenge!

Wow, Stef. This is elegant and fashionable stuff. I am trying to figure out how to create something in my style. I do have one idea.... Be back a little later. Thanks.
OMGosh, I love Erte! Peggy, what a great suggestion and thanks to Stef for posting this. What a blast from the past. I actually owned an Erte bronze sculpture at one time. Can you say divorce? Uh huh. No more do I get to gaze upon that beauty. But I just adore his gorgeous creations.
What fun will this be to try to emulate such beauty. Thanks to Peggy and Stef. Off to think. Very easy to be inspired, not so easy to create. Hmmmmm ...

Happy dances here. I have loved Ert (much of his stuff, the more archaic, wild style doesn't appeal to me) as long as I can remember, have a whole load of postcards and cards featuring his designs from the V&A in London and other places. And even some stamps, too . Happy days, this is going to be an easy IC for me.
Another eye-popping gallery..and a VAST one to peruse! Thanks, Stef.
I've always admired Erte's work, but never thought I would be trying to derive inspiration from it! Love his long, lean women, but I really have no "people" stamps, not even short, squatty ones! : ) So I came up with this!
