One of my favorite parts of the opening ceremonies is the lighting of the torch. The relay leading up to these games is the longest domestic torch run in history, including more than 12 000 individual runners and reaching the most northern, southern, eastern and western points of the host country, Canada.
Each of the torchbearers wears an official uniform including a pair of red mittens. They are red and white, fleece lined and toasty warm. The mittens are available for sale across the country as well, and are so popular they are always sold out. You can see the red mittens here and a short video on the mittens and the torch run here.
My challenge to you is to make a card that includes the colors red and white and wool or yarn in honor of the mittens.

Love this challenge. So glad that I can get here. I'm having problems with SCS tonight. Is it everyone or just my computer? I seem to be able to navigate other websites, but when I come here I keep getting "Internet Explorer cannot display website"...I think that I'll try Firefox! It sometimes works when I'm having problems! I still can't get my card for the first challenge linked! Off to try Firefox! BRB (hopefully!)

It's not just you, it's SCS. Hang in there with us! Things seem better now!
Well, I'm not glad that everyone is having this problem, but I'm glad it's not my computer! I'm on Firefox now and just got the error message only in different words! I hope to get my first card loaded and work on some more now! Hope things get worked out soon! Love these challenges!

I commented on EVERY card so far...And only half of them showed up...I'm going to have to go back tomorrow and make sure they all get commented on again!
Ladies, please don't take offense that I haven't posted any comments. The cards I've seen so far are wonderful but I'm not having any success with commenting. Posts work about 1/2 the time. The comments will come, don't worry!

I have almost caught up! Got home late from another card making class and had to cook dinner! Almost there...it such a trudge to get caught on card challenges....

This was a fun Challenge... not only did I think about the red Olympic gloves but I started thinking about the old familiar Ukrainian folktale that Jan Brett retold in her book "The Mitten" (http://www.teachingheart.net/mitten.html). Where a group of Animal friends came together and tried to live in a mitten that they found on the snowy ground. Much like we do when we all come together at the Olympics...
