What are the new color trends for 2010
I have been surfing the net and wondering if the new colour trends for 2010 will be slightly vintage with flourishes and still birds seem to be in vogue. the colours which seem in are sort of vintage cream yellow, sage green, cocoa, and vintage cream, rusty terracottas and certain blues.
Has anyone else had the same opinion on the colour trend and feel like me .

I don't know how closely papercrafting follows major color influences, like in fashion and home interiors....but here is Panton'es forecast for fashion in 2010.
http://www.pantone.com/pages/pantone...pg=20697&ca=10
Turquoise is color of the year, and is seen a lot in this forecast.

There was an article in the San Diego paper yesterday that turquoise will remain a go-to color for home dec and fashion. Lots of white with a bit of turquoise for a pop of color is something we may be seeing more of in the spring. The article also mentioned that a multitude of shades of yellows and greens, combined and used solo, will be popular for spring.

I'm loving the 2010 Colors - those are very pretty! I'm a green gal, so the Dried Herb is my favorite of them all. This gives me lots of great ideas.

Tells us that Turquoise is one of the New Color's.
I know that The Angel Company told us (Demo's) that this was one of the New color's out for the 2010 year.
I too LOVE Turquoise. It's one of my color's I wear the most.

When I was a kid we took a vacation in Colorado. I bought a beautiful turquoise bracelet there and that got me hooked. I really don't wear much jewelry anymore but that is my fav along with opal (my birthstone).
Jewelry and sweats just don't seem to go together. LOL!!

Great thread! I love the muted shades mentioned above and have always loved turquoise! I also think that black and white with bright colors like turquoise and magenta will be popular, at least with me!

I love turquoise and dark brown together (like chocolate chip). They can go from elegant to Western to very simple. I use that color combination quite a bit.

A color that hasn't been mentioned yet in this thread is purple. There is an international association of color experts, the Color Marketing Group, that sets color forecasts for many industries and manufacturers. One of the CMG's 2010 colors is something called Mardi Grape. It's a purple with the addition of brown and gray, and they are referring to it as a new neutral.

Yay for purple, lol! It's always been a staple for me, whether it's "in" or not. I tried to find a picture of the color on your link, but couldn't find one. Sounds like a dusty purple...?
Love lookin' at your avatar...our Sheltie passed away Thanksgiving morning, and I do miss him...

It's funny you mention turquoise jewelry as getting you hooked. I think it was my first jewelry and as I've gotten older, I've seen fashion photos or actresses attending the Academy Awards wearing haute couture gowns with turquoise necklaces. Honey, you can wear real jewelry in your pajamas, LOL!!!
I posted that Pantone article on my blog a couple weeks ago. The story was in our local newspaper.
And now that one source says "turquoise" pay attention when you all go to a major department store and let's see how much clothing shows up in turquoise and what they're putting with it. How fun!! I love being a girl ;-)

I've only seen one photo of it, the first one on this page: http://www.sensationalcolor.com/colo...-next-hot-hue/
It's hard to tell on a computer monitor, but that photo has more lavender in it than I would have guessed from the description. The parts of the wall color in that room that have less light on them are closer to what I was picturing.
We all should have been able to predict it -- after staring at SCS's background color for so many hours per day. ;)

That looks to me very much like SU Perfect Plum.
I love that turquoise is going to be such a color trend this year, I love that color and going to love to have clothing coming out iwth that color - I really hated when color trends were colors that weren't "becoming" in my color palette, LOL - and turqoise is definitely my color.
Interesting, I have learned so much about things - until I came to SCS and started stamping I never knew that there were color trend reports and that was how everyone/companies planned their designs, clothing, home decor, etc. So cool to know this!

Years ago when I had a color analysis done, I was told that turquoise is the "universal color" in that it looks good on all skin/hair color types.

Funny thing is, I read this post, went to see the 2010 colors...and went out and bought some turquoise jewelry!
It's not stamping stuff, but at least I know my accessories will be in style this year!

Turquoise is my favorite shade of blue! I can use the color all the time and never get tired of it
Buttery yellow is very pretty color, too! Hope I will see more in paper crafting this year.

I read the pantone turquoise piece last night, as I was searching this exact subject, I also saw ORANGE and NAVY BLUE, the turquoise I saw was with muted ivory and silver and looked so classy. Just blew me away. I feel like decorating my entire house with it. Apparently when they say turquoise, they mean all shades of it. Very nice with chocolate and cream (very vanilla from SU!).
I liked the deep plum colour as well, maybe a deep cranberry. I actually have some clothing in those colours and they will be "IN" during our winter, your summer, here in the
Southern Hemisphere. Really fun.
