Default Stickers on round glass ornaments

I've looked at all the nice classy glass ornaments that have been made using reinkers and glitter and want to try my hand at them for gifts this year. I'm hoping to case this ornament: Harley Davidson Ornament by SweetHeidiJo at Splitcoaststampers to make a couple of them with a Harley-Davidson theme for my uncles but I can't find any little tag embellishments, so was thinking of using stickers. The problem is trying to fit something flat onto something round - I think the stickers will wrinkle. Does anyone know if I try to heat set them, if they will soften enough to smooth out any wrinkles?? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

You could try making slits around the edges, but other than that, they will not lay totally flat on a rounded suface. Just the law of nature!

Nope stickers on a round surface will not work well - and if you try to heat set - they will loose the stickiness- not to mention risking shattering the glass ball - been there tried that! Love the one posted but unless you can find the exact embellishment she used it may be hard to duplicate - but how about - doing the stickers on clear acetate and inserting it into the ornament - I made a Tinkerbell snow globe - I put a sticker on each side of the acetate and inserted it into the ball and than added buffalo snow and glitter *Sorry - I don't have a photo* but it did come out cute. Good luck!

In her instructions she mentions that the Harley embellishment is from hobby lobby and is really a scrap booking metal charm, that she then hot glued to the ornament.

I've seen some ornaments that were flat -- I have some square ones and some that are round but flat, like a cookie. Your stickers would work on those. I think I got them at either Michaels or Hobby Lobby. I like them because they're a little different that the traditional round ornaments.

It's not in the style you are thinking of doing, but here's another idea to make a Harley ornament.

I know, but that gallery post was from 2006. I've tried searching the internet and did find them at ONE company - for $4.95, but shipping was $14.95!!! Ack!

Oo! Love the whole set! Hope she doesn't mind if I decide to case....! Unfortunately I can't find Harley paper ANYWHERE! I found 1 design at Michael's at Christmas last year and remember the scrapbook kits at Hobby Lobby, but was looking for paper to make the same uncles birthday cards recently and couldn't find ANY. I'll have to make a run to Archiver's at some point to see if they might still have it...or maybe Flower Factory would have it....hmm.... Thank you!!!

Rub-ons work on ornaments. I don't know if you can find any of those, but I've been able to put those on ornaments.

Oh, there's LOTS of paper online, but I have a HUGE problem paying the shipping costs most places charge! Plus I've really been trying to do my shopping locally unless there's something I absolutely have to have and can't find around here. I'm lucky enough to live in the country, but am only 30-45 minutes to downtown Columbus, so I can go just about anywhere to shop.

I've used stickers on the inside of glass ball ornaments before. It's not too hard to do, it just takes a few practice tries, lol!

Snip the sticker all the way around the edge to help it lay flatter. Peel it off the backing and use powder (cornstarch or something) to de-stickify it. Coat the inside of your ornament with clear varnish and drain the excess. Use tweezers to position the sticker on the inside. The varnish will be wet still and will allow you to slide the sticker around to position it. Try and press all over so the entire surface of the sticker is pressed against the side and is well covered with the varnish. If you want you can sprinkle glitter inside.

It's been several years now, but one year I did an N'Sync ornament, a US flag ornament (that's right..it was the Christmas after 9/11), a really cute karate ornament, a dirtbiking one...well, you get the picture. Once you start, you can't stop, lol! Try it, though...it really isn't to hard if you stay with smaller size stickers.

Well, I found the flat-sided round glass ornaments (does that even make sense?! lol!) and made an attempt at these this weekend - I think they turned our really cool - my Mom loved them!
