Default New Year's Day Challenge 7:00 pm - a little inspiration here!

Hi all!

Here I am, wondering when the next challenge is going to come out and then I realized it was ME! (It's a time zone thing!)

Here's the deal - everyone of us has plenty of stamping/scrapbooking magazine around, but you aren't allowed to look there for your inspiration from a NON-stamping/scrapbooking magazine (or catalog). I used an ad from Gourmet to get my idea (now if I could just figure out why I am receiving it - I didn't order it).

You don't have to do it exactly like your page, just use the inspiration however you feel. I decided to include my page in the picture below.

Have fun!

P.S. When uploading on Monday, please put NYDC7 in the keyword box.

Looks cool, off to scan my magazines . . .

Kay, mine did not turn out as cute as Kimberly's but I used a car ad in child magazine for my inspiration. Here is the finished card idea. I found another ad I want to try, so I will do that and post the other card later as well.

Hello...
I'm just havin' fun lookin' at all your cards today. It's tough not being able to stamp (sprained wrist) but I'm going to post lots of comments tomorrow when you all have uploaded to your galleries.
By the way, Karen's Inspiration Challenges that Joni mentioned are really fun.

Great job - I love it! I guess I have to spend some money this month to get some SAB sets!

This was tough! My inspiration came from my knitting catalog. The navy with swirls needle case caught my eye and made me think of soft swirls bkgrnd stamp! With Sun Moon & Stars set, it makes a good NY's card.

WOW! This is terrific! Funny, the first SU demo I hosted I asked my (now friend) Demo to teach us how to emboss - and we did a deep blue card w/ silver moon & stars (don't ask the colors or the set - it was almost 3 years ago)... it was all downhill from there. LOL!

Wow...this was a REAL challenge. What a great idea and I love the cards. It took longer to find an ad to to work with my stamps than to do the card ! I think I am getting a little slaphappy from all the neat challenges today.

Hi Amy....Do you think we should put these in the gallery with the ads or just the cards alone?

Love your "real simple" card from your Real Simple Mag! I felt the same way about the ad... I posted the first one I tried to use above, but couldn't quite do it - I think I am "linen impared".

I don't have time to scan the magazine page but it was from Midwest Living and was a picture of a flower garden.
