With all the scrappin' we do about our kids, furry babies, vacations, school functions, Christmas, etc. there is always a shortage of pages done on us. Partly because we are behind the camera and partly because we are being selfless in our thoughts of preserving memories and we are thinking of others before our selves.
This VSBN the focus will be on you baby!!!! VSBN has begun!!! It's all about you so join us HERE
Now before you get all up in arms and telling me that you already have a ton you need to scrap and/or you don't have photos of you and/or you don't want to focus on you let me say.....when it's all said and done....will they want to see more pics and pages of what you've been scrappin' (which is very valuable and worthy don't get me wrong) or would they trade some of those pages for pages on you....who you are....what you like....how it is you came to be you.....what you've struggled with .....what your typical day is like....what talents/ablilities you have.....
It's time to dive in and put the spotlight on you......you are worth it and when you are gone (which won't be for decades to come ;) ) you need to have left a trail of pages to prove you were here!!!

I'm in for some of it but hubby got us tickets to Mayfield Dinner Theater and a suite at the hotel for that weekend so I am not sure how much I can play those days. I seem to recall the challenges are posted and available for a time after the weekend as well though. Right????

I've been to a few scrappin' getaways over the last two years that have forced me to put the scrappin' spotlight.....on me!!!
It was hard at first for me to tear away from all the other worthy pages I had to do but it was worth it!!! My family is loving walking through pages of me!!!
Still, I don't scrap me unless challenged to do so and my bet is most of you don't either.....so get ready baby this VSBN is gonna be all about you!!!!
If you've got an idea then consider being a hostess!!! If you've never done it before I promise you it's EASY and soooo fun!!! If you've done it before then you know it's a blast...let me know what your idea(s) are and join the fun!!!
It'll be fun no matter how you're involved so I hope you can all make it out!!!
I plan on providing tips throughout too!!! I'll give you one now...
*tip* if you have a scanner (be it a flat bed or part of a 3 in 1/4 in 1/5 in 1 printer) you can scan in old photos and make a digital copy to resize for printing wherever it is you print, be it home or abroad. Make sure to choose the highest DPI setting for best results...info on that can be found in your manual, online, DH or a techie friend. You'll find this hint helpfull with working with your older pics....whether you need your 8 x 10 as a 4 x 6 or you need your Polaroid as a 5 x 7!!!!

Good question....I think so...I'm sorry...I'll have to get back to you on that...we haven't finalized a schedule so far but if it's usually done like that I'm sure it'll be done like that again ;)

We usually have an additional week to get challenges completed and posted! Even if you don't get posted that week, you can still print the list and play along! :mrgreen:

Such a neat idea. My DH says I'm not in enough photos. He tries to remember to take over the camera once in awhile. (But it is hard. I love my camera! LOL!)

**Tip** Need to get just you out of a photo but you don't have the digital copy and you don't want to cut up the one copy you do have.....plus, you know it would be to small....well make use of your scanner again!!! This time take copy paper and fold it over the parts of the picture you don't need (basically it's croppin' without cutting) that way with your scanners DPI set at the highest setting you can scan the image into your computer and now you have a higher resolution of just the part of the picture you need!! Now you can crop it without losing any quality and be able to print a 4 x 6 or 5 x 7!!! ~~Note: results are dependant on many factors like DPI, size and quality of the orginal, etc....however I was able to use my 4 in 1 to scan in a photo that was less than 2 x 2 taken in the 70's and printed it as a 5 x 7!!!! So it's well worth trying!!!

Like this tip on using the copy paper to crop before you scan! I'll have to try this!

I just bought some new scrappy pp today...I can't think of a better person to use it on;)
But...now that I'm looking at the date, that is my anniversary so not sure how much I'll be able to play.

The deadline for the challenges won't be till the following weekend....but if that doesn't help by all means still play along!!!! What matters the most is getting the pictures onto paper into albums with the stories!!!

My DH, however, has a bad habit of cutting of heads or bodies in his photos....lol....maybe it's cuz he's soooooo tall????
Anyway...the best photos I have of me were actually taken by my gf's!!!

Me too, then when he does want to take pictures of me - I say things like, "my hair is a mess'...or I want to see each photo and instruct him on how to shoot 'beauty shots'...poor man...
This will be a great weekend, I'm sure. Leaving a legacy in pictures is such a precious way to spend our time.

Awesome to see so much chatter about this upcoming VSBN! Looking forwarding to 'seeing' all of you in your layouts. I agree, we are sorely lacking in our scrapbooking. My GFs and I are being intentional about getting our own stories told in our scrapbooks. Like Diane said - it's our legacy! Can't wait to see all the challenges!
