Default Ink to use with clear stamps AND Copics?

What is THE ink I can use w/ clear stamps AND Copics? I have Memento ink for coloring images w/ Copic, but that is horrible trying to use clear stamps with it. I use Versafine for clear stamps, which is wonderful, until I try to color the images w/ Copics, which make the ink bleed. Is there any ink out there that I can use with both without having to use embossing powder to emboss the images before coloring?

TIA!

I too have been using the memento w/ my clear stamps. I thought the image looking a little rough/inky was me. Good question can't wait to hear the other responses. Wow so many inkpads, so little time right!

You could try Brilliance ink....but you would have to heat set it before coloring....

I've used the Nick Bantock ink. Seemed to work fine and you won't have to heat set or emboss.

I'd second Sherrie's suggestion of Brilliance. Works well with most clear stamps and a quick blast with a heat gun sets it if you're in a hurry. If you have a little more time, just leave it for 10 minutes after stamping before you start in with the Copics - I've never had a problem with it then.

I've heard that the Ranger Dye inks work well, but my go-to ink is the Memento. True you don't get a super clear, crisp image wth it, but it works flawlessly with my Copics. The best ink to use with clear stamps for a clear image is the Palette inks. But you can't use Copics with the Palette ink - it bleeds. Have you tried conditioning your clear stamps with an eraser and THEN inking them up with the Memento ink? I hear that you get a better image that way. It's worth a try, right?

I use Ranger Black Soot ink and it works like a charm on clear stamps. Leaves a nice clear image and no bleeding with my copics at all. For my wood stamps I stick with Memento or heat set my Versafine and I am good to go.

I've used Memento with my clear stamps, and many times, have no problems, & Versafine also does well - except for coloring with Copics :( .
I think it depends on the stamps - sometimes those Studio G stamps don't stamp clearly. I was told by someone that you can "rough up" your stamp, and the image will stamp clearly.

I use Palette Noir Black with almost all of my images, and with my copics and don't have bleeding. Of course, as with any ink, I do wait to make sure my ink is dry before coloring.

i posted a link about them...

copics are really great for blending and there are way over 300 colours to choose from. search for copic markers in the forums and you'll get about a million forums about them. just start reading! they are totally different from SU! markers and are worth the investment (for me) but check them out!

Memento inks i've been told...they don't bleed with copics!! But you can use memento instead of stazon too, but stazon bleeds with copics. For the acrylic stamps it really doesn't matter, only if you want to colour with copics after stamping

I'm wondering if your Memento pad needs reinked. I use mine all the time with clear stamps and get a nice clean image.

What paper are you using?

If your image is still fine, than you don't need reinking!! Memento is a bit different from Stazon in that way.

I use cheap glossy papers, or matt/gloss (satin finish) paper. But the're some specific copic papers to use, don't know (for now) which ones, but i've got it somewhere in my email inbox...

Me too! I'm not a huge fan of Memento ink - I really have a tough time getting a crisp clear image, no matter what paper or stamp sets I use. and my ink pad is new!!!

I've found that my India Ink (black) works marvelously with my clear stamps. Even the inexpensive ones.
