Since the CB plates are not magnetized, does anyone have a good way of holding them in place (important if trying to cut a "frame" from 2 nested together.)
Double sided tape is an option, but gets messy and can mess up the card stock. Tried regular tape and it just interfers with the cut.
(If this has already been discussed, I apologize, but I scanned pages of threads and didn't see anything.) Does anyone know if there is a forum-wide search function rather than just searching a thread?
I use a Post-It Note. Just position your two Nesties on the cardstock, stick the Post-It (or two if necessary) across to hold it in place. The adhesive is strong enough to hold it where you want it but low-tack enough that I have never had a problem with getting it off afterwards. I stick the note back on the pad afterwards and keep reusing it, too :lol:
Forget the magnetic stuff - I use a piece of scotch repositionable tape - you find it in office supply stores - regular scotch tape is in a yellow box, this stuff is in a blue box.
Right next to my regular tape, I keep a roll of repositional tape ( I use it all the time and think I got it from an embossing template sight) I find it PERFECT for keeping the nesties right where I want them and use it all the time - this also helps use up scraps and use them in tight spaces, and also tape the nestie on when I have stamped an image and then want to cut it. Also helps for cutting out a part of a paper - and image on patterned paper you have, but only want a certain thing. HTH
Personally I use paper tape - it's a kind of medical tape. I seem to have endless rolls of it, so I never run out. It doesn't stick down enough to tear my paper or leave a residue on my die, and it keeps things nicely in place. I know someone else who uses blue painters tape like some others here and she says it works great as well.
I use that stuff for so much!
• to mask images before inking (if you only want to use part of a stamp)
• to mask images after stamping to overstamp
• to make horizons (ink or chalk above it or below it)
• to hold small pieces of paper in place for coloring or stamping
• over part of a die
• to keep paper in place when diecutting, especially useful when you want to diecut a word or an image.
I have a Wizard and the magnetic plate - but nine times out of ten I just use respostionable tape, so it gets my vote. I have one that is so low-tack I can use it on the right side of DP and it lifts off perfectly.
