Bev, when I saw Julia's card, I just had to come and see what this DDC is all about. Wow, your sketch is wonderful and what a great idea to print the card to use the curved edge as a template. I just may have to come back to this!

Today's Doubledog Dare Challenge is to make a summery card. Flowers, beaches, tropics, whatever you like. I had originally thought of using the colors of blue, orange and yellow for this, but today's color challenge (Baja, Turquoise, Apricot, Caramel) would look aweome for this theme too. Whichever you would prefer would be fine. No rules, only fun!
we would love for you to join us, just add DDC to your keywords so we can find your sunny creation! Enjoy!

Doubledog Dare Challenge 7/21/09 From LilLuvsStampin
Recently, I came across another SCSers card that reminded me of the old children's show I loved when I was growing up called Romper Room. Are you all familiar with it? Remember how Miss Nancy would look through her "magic mirror" and recite at the end of the show:
"Romper, bomper, stomper boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me, do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Have all my friends had fun at play?" And then she would start reciting names, like "I see Billy and Susie and Linda and, oh, there's Annie, too...."
Further, do you remember Mr. Do Bee (the bumblebee), who taught the children lessons on how to be good boys and girls?
This week I challenge you to make a Mr. Do Bee card (using a bee somewhere on your card, of course) teaching a young child one or more good manners. I did a quick search on some topics to get you started but you can look further:
* Be nice to people.
* Say Please when you ask for something.
* Say Thank You when you are given something.
* Say Youre Welcome when someone thanks you.
* Greet people when you see them.
* Look people in the eyes when you talk to them.
* Talk politely during meals (even in the cafeteria).
* Dont interrupt when other people are talking.
* Share with others.
* Help people.
* Let guests go first.
* Be on time, especially if you are meeting someone
* Don't talk with your mouth full.
* No elbows on the table.
Doubledog Dare Challenge 7/28/09 -- Is it Edible??
The DDC challenge this week is to create a card...
1.) The main image should include something edible.
AND,
2.) The inks and solid colored CS (not DP) colors MUST ALL be named after edible items!!! :twisted:
So, for example, you can use Elegant Eggplant for purple, but you can't use Orchid Opulance. OR you can use Berry Sorbet (PTI) but you can't use Pixie Pink. This may be harder if you use Copics! (They tend to be more botanical/nature inspired!)
The exceptions:
Black and White inks and CS are OK but all the other colors need to be edible.
Embellishments of any colors are ok unless you make them out of CS (i.e., punches); then you have to go by the "edible" requirement.
Of course this is totally on the honor system as we can't really tell if you used Basic Brown instead of Chocolate Chip LOL!!!
Please join in and use DDC in your keyword when you upload!! We'd love to have you play along!!
Anne, you clever girl! I cheated ever so slightly with my main image but I was determined to use my new Greenhouse set. For the edible item I used the wheat sprig, yes it's very crunchy but high in fiber
Colors were Celery, Apricot, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie.
This week the DDC is to make a card of your own choosing.....any theme, color, size, shape, embellishments.........BUT.........it must incorporate an out-of-the-box element. Some part of the image must extend beyond the margin or panel. Here are some examples:

Hi, I was referred to your challenge today by Nancy and am so happy to be here. I want to get to my room tomorrow and do some of your challenges! Thanks for all you do! Rita
It's Tuesday and time for another Doubledog Dare!
School resumed for us yesterday (big sad face here, I miss my buddy already). So in honor of back to school, let us make a fall card and it has to have an apple or apples somewhere on it. It doesn't necessarily have to be for teacher, just autumnal.
Have fun with it!

Doubledog Dare Challenge for 9/15/09
Do you love using various techniques in your card creations? I do, and sometimes I forget to use some of those I learned a long time ago....such as CRAYON RESIST!!! So, my challenge to all of you today is to create a card or project incorporating crayon resist.
Here's a link from the SCS resources on how to do this technique.
Be sure to use DDC in your keywords so we can all see your creations! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. There is no time limit.
Doubledog Dare Challenge 9/22/09 -- Being Negative!!
Hi Everyone!!
Your DoubleDog Challenge for this week is to use a punch or punches in a "negative" way!!
For example, you can punch a bunch of leaves out of a cardstock panel and use the left over piece with all the leaf-holes in it to make a really great background panel layer!
Be sure to use PUNCHES for this challenge!! Some of those obscure, rarely used punches can be put to good use!!
Be sure to upload using "DDC" as your keyword!! Have fun all!!
Your challenge for this week, if you DARE, is to make a masculine Get well card........no flowers or ribbon allowed......but you may use anything else like brads, piercing, paper piecing, etc.
You may combine this challenge with any other, just be sure to put DDC in your keyword.
Happy stamping!!
