IFC20: 12/22/08 I'm Dreaming of a White-Spaced Christmas
This week's inspiration was found in the December 2008 issue of Creating Keepsakes page 93.

I love the vast, white blanket of snow left after a winter snowfall. No children have stomped through it, made snow angels or scoopedit up to pack in to snowballs. the untouched snow is so pleasing to the eye, especially after the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season and it's bright and shiny images.
Not surprisingly, the beauty of open, undisturbed space also applies to scrapbook layouts. When looking at my pages, I need a visual resting place. That's what I love about white space. This design principle refers to an area, either large or small, that's left empty on your page- free of words, photos or embellishments.
Attached are 2 layouts completed by Elizabeth Kartchner that embrace the design principle of white-space.
Your challenge this week is to create a layout using the design principle of white space. This has always been a struggle for me as I want to cover every spare inch of my page. So, when I say this is a challenge, it truly is for me. :mrgreen:
Please use the keywords IFC20 for all layouts submitted for this challenge. Be sure to leave a reply to this thread with a link to your creation. :p

*Please Note: This will be the last IFC for 2008. In observance of the upcoming Christmas and New Year's Holiday there will not be a challenge posted on Monday, December 29th. It's a challenge for me too, Jennipher! I always feel the need to use all the product from my stash on my pages. I'll work at keeping it minimized on this one. Hopefully after Christmas. I miss my scrapping!

If I get the chance tonight, I hope to play with this one (I want to try some of those scraplings first.) I am feeling the need to get seriously scrappy.
This is my first time answering a challenge in this forum but when I saw that the challenge was using white space, I couldn't resist as I absolutely LOVE the minimalist approach of white space (or perhaps I'm just scared of embellishments?). I think most of the pages I do involve a lot of white space (I just never realized there was a term for it!). Here is one that seems to fit in perfectly for this challenge...tfl

Ok, my page is uploaded as "finished" but I'm w/ you Jenn, it was hard to leave it, LOL! I think for my page though...space...goes well w/ photo & title.

Here's my page leaving white space. As I said in my description, I originally had more pink *white* space, but I cut down my pink in order to give it a border so I could frame it in a white frame. This was fun, Jennipher!

Here's a digi-page I did today using white space. I find it easier to use white space on a digi page than on a paper page--I love to doll up my paper pages with lots of embellies and have trouble with white space.
