I love the magnetic mats, but do not have one from spellbinders, I had a package of the magnetic sheets I had used to make refrigerator magnets, so I cut one of them up to make the mats.
Are you girls using it in the Wizard? It won't work in the Cuttlebug. It is only for the Wizard. I don't own any other machine so I can't advise you with any other brand.

Jennifer, the Spellbinders magnetic sheet is a little thicker than the magnetic vent cover.
I don't own a Big Shot, so I do not know if you can use the magnetic sheets with it. You may have to experiment and find a sandwich that would work for you. OR, someone has probably done that and posted it in another thread.

I have a CB, and it works fine. But I am using a large magnet not the Spellbinders mat.

I found some inexpensive adhesive backed magnet sheets at Joanns. brand is DArice and the magnets are 4x6. sometimes I want to cut out an image and it makes me nuts when I get it crooked. This stack works great!
A plate

CS shims 4 sheets(but you know how all bugs are not the same!

The magnet held the image exactly in the center!!Very cool! My first pass I used the C plate on top, without the cardstock shims. cut and embossed in one pass, but cut the magnet. While I am now the proud owner of 4 magnet sheets, I am going to choose the cut and emboss option carefully.

OK a dumb question, I thought the point of using a magnetic sheet was to hold the die in place on a sheet of cardstock eg. over an image. In the above stack the cardstock is just sitting on top of the die. Does that make sense:confused:

Use my previously posted stack to make frames. Place two different size dies on the magnetic sheet. This will keep the dies in place so they don't shift.
To cut out a stamped image with your CB, the stack I use is:
A Plate
B Plate
CS with Stamped Image facing up
Die (ridge down) you should be able to see where to place it on your image
Magnetic sheet (magnetic side down)
C Plate
I would like to know this too! I have some of those magnetic sheets and can make my own. For any of you that have done that, could you please post a "sandwich recipe" for the Big Shot???

I put the die on the magnetic sheet and wrap the card around the magnet. This gives me perfect placement. By wrapping the card around the magnetic sheet I don't get an embossed die image on the back of the card.

Spellbinders created the magnetic spacer plate in the Raspberry Wizard to take the place of the thin white spacer plate that use to come in the Wizard, it is a specific thickness to only be used in the Raspberry Wizard, it is very helpful for keeping the dies in place and as was mentioned when making window cards it is very helpful. I love mine!!!
I work at Archivers. A couple of months ago we had a card for our make and take that had a cut out window. We were using a QuicKutz square die to make the window on the front of the card. We used tombow to stick our die down and keep it from shifting. We also drew lines to line up the card so that everything was lined up perfectly. It took a little of trial and error, but it worked great. Oh, we were using the Epic Six die cutting machine.
i have to try this....i am using an old red sizzix with the "system converter" for my nesties (have the CB and a big shot, but i hate replacing those darn B plates so often)...i also have a revolution which i havnet even opened yet ! i bought that cause i read where it has a magnetic base...i'd better open it and see what's up with it. i am saving it for when any of the other machines break. is that ridiculous or what !!
has anyone used a magnetic sheet in the old sizzix?
now i am using removable tape if i am making a frame....
I have a used spellbinders magnetic mat someone gave me. It just does not work well for me. I use tape instead but I have to admit it's a pain to peel off. Now I am wondering if there is something wrong with the mat, looking at it there are some indents from being cut through on the wrong side. I wonder if this has defected the mat? Maybe I will buy a new one and give it another try.
