I cant believe I was introduced to stamping over 6 years ago! I only started as a favor to my good friend, Shellee (HI-YA, GIRL!), because she was looking for people to join her stamp group (and I admit that I never thought Id get that into it . . . whatEVER!!)
One of the first helpful hints that Shellee taught me was a formula of sorts to help me figure out what to put on a card. It was called the Triple Play (which, I do believe, came directly from Stampin Up). I was talking to her earlier today and mentioned that I had NO clue what I was doing for the LSC this week. She said that she had been going through some old files this week and came across the handout she gave us at that fateful meeting oh-so-many years ago . . . so that was the inspiration for todays challenge (I tweaked the original idea just a bit to give it my own twist) . . .
Heres is how it works. Everything we are doing today is in triplicate. First, your creation must have THREE layers (I cheated a little here and have decided to allow yall three layers on TOP of the card base). This is harder than it sounds, as we are all SOOO good at matting things (and be sure to count those patterned papers as a layer, too, if ya use 'em!)!
Second, you are required to use three colors . . . no more, no less (though you ARE allowed to use either white, vanilla, black or chocolate as a neutral in addition to the three colors you choose . . . please make sure that your neutral is one of the colors listed!). This is also very tricky for those of us who LOVE color!
Third, your card needs to have three elements, or focal points. For example, that could be three separate panels with an image stamped on each one; or a stamped image, a sentiment and an embellishment is another way you could interpret it (which is what I did for my sample) . . . it is really a triple combo of whatever you choose, but you are limited to only three (in keeping with our triple play theme).
BONUS points will be given to those who put three different images on one panel (which is also something I did in my sample . . . hooray for me!).
This is really not as complicated as it sounds. I KNOW you are all up to the task, and that you will find this an easy fallback formula when you are stamped, er . . . uh STUMPED and have no inspiration!!
And here is Amelias sample (WendybellsGirl) . . . and I have to laugh 'cause she GOOFED and used FOUR colors . . . tsk, tsk, tsk! I told her the Challenge Police are gonna come and snatch her!!:
Uploading: Remember the keyword is without spaces. Use a comma between keywords with a space after each comma.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping!

I really did my very best to follow the rules, hopefully I didn't break any?
This was a tough one for me because I have so many new toys that finally came in this week that I have been dying to play with, so to limit it to three elements was really tough.
My three elements are, brads, ribbon and cb, my three colors are purely pomegranate, apricot appeal and old olive, my three images are the three drinks from MFT's Girls Night Out set and my three layers are the pomegranate, apricot appeal and the white layer with the images on it.
What a great challenge! I will have to try..although we do have an easter egg hunt, a softball tournament and a house to look at...but I'll try to squeeze this in!
Lots of alternatives to think about there.
I don't know which three is going to be harder - 3 colours or 3 focal points; but it sounds like fun. Thanks, Wendy.
I haven't tried this challenge before - so I just had to!
Here is my Triple Play: LSC 215 - Triple Fifth! by Indy_Patti at Splitcoaststampers
3 colors: Kiwi, Pretty in Pink, WW
3 layers: Kiwi, Pretty in Pink, DP or WW
3 embellishments: CB, SU border punch, Taffeta Ribbon
3 inks: Kiwi, Black, gold pen (does that count as an ink?)
3 images - stamped the flower 3 times on DP and cut out. Adhered over the stamped image on the white panel.
If the challenge police find out that I hedged a bit - let me know. In any case, I like how it turned out!
Got er' done....LSC215 Petals by tankgrl at Splitcoaststampers, thanks Wendy...Sorry for the huge photo all, still no computer and editing software, so there is a huge learning curve... Hoping today will be the day I get it back. have a blessed Easter Everyone!
