TLC38 - All that Glitters....
This week's TLC is Glitter Windows.
To make a glitter window, punch out a shape in the cardstock. You will use the part remaining after you punch it (meaning, if you punched a circle, you will use the part with the hole in it, not the circle itself.) Flip the piece over and adhere a piece of clear packing tape so that it complete covers the hole. Flip it back over so that the sticky side of the tape is now face up. Sprinkle clear glitter (dazzling diamonds) over the tape. Shake off the excess. Now you have a glittery window! Stamp something to go behind the window and attach it to the back of the cardstock so that all you see is the stamped image looking through the window.
Your inspiration is by Diane Vander Galien...I think this is an awesome card!

I can honestly say I was going through withdrawal without this challenge on Monday morning. Im so glad to see the site getting way better!
Being born in the show me state of Missouri did not work for this challenge, I was at a complete loss when I looked at the example photo and had to go back a read and re read the directions. Its a very cool idea, hats off to whoever came up with it.
Heres my card

Ooooh - I love this technique!! This is a card I did at a workshop ages ago, but now that you've thrown out this challenge I'm going to have to come up with lots of new ones ...

Another one - I just love this technique. This might even be my Christmas card this year if I can't figure out something I like more.

Here's mine. I needed a thank you gift for my regular stamp campers, so this is what I came up with. Got the magnetic notepads at the Target $ Spot today. Thanks for looking!

Is this one of those things you really need to use a white/clear glitter on? I just made a really cute card (I can say that cuz now it is ruined ) but the glitter I used is too dark to see what is underneath -- it certainly didn't work the way it looked in my head ~LOL.

I love how you gals are making these glitter cards but not making them window cards. Just another thing that I never thought of doing! Every time I've done these I've always made them into window cards also. Not making them window cards allows for more options as you don't have to have a stamp fit inside exactly.
Here's one from my gallery:

Yay, a good reason to play with my new stuff I got this weekend! Here's my glitter window card (pending approval). It's not a true window -- just a cutout placed on top of the card. Like Jodi said, it gives you more options and it's easier to get lined up!
Thanks for looking!

Tlc38 All That Glitters Tiny Talk
Used snowflake punch with the tape and glitter. It really does show up in person, not so much in this pic. This is a great challenge.

This was fun. I've only made one or two of these in the past but I really wanted to think of a seasonal one for this challenge. I finally came up with one I was satisfied with.... it isn't up yet, but here is the link. Should be viewable in the morning.
Thanks Denier for pushing me - I'm finally getting motivated again!!! LOL

HELP
Ok ladies, I need your help. I started making cards last december when I didn't know a thing about it. I started this card (that happens to be this week's technique) but got stumped as to how to finish it. If you click on the link, you'll see I used clear mosaic stickers instead of tape, and before i added the glitter I put on a silver snowflake sticker. Now what? I slid a piece of vellum partially in there so you can see what it looks like with vellum, or without. I'm so used to making cards with layers and background stamps and whatnot....I'm just clueless to what to do with this card that's being laying around for a year. What should I do?! TIA!!!

Leah, how about turning it so that the fold is at the top, and tying some silver cording around the top with a bow? *Maybe* add a tag tied to the cording? I like the vellum underneath.
I like the simple elegance of it; I wouldn't add too much to it.

I had fun playing along on VSN and took the chance to use a challenge to try this technique. Here is my version, already displayed on another forum on Saturday.

P.S. Beth, I never could get the naming thing to work for my gallery, so I just have a link instead. Thanks for the help though.
