I would try misting the cardstock with water, and possibly inserting a shim. I use two embossing pads, one shim, and i mist the cardstock before I run it through, and it looks great!
From bottom to top:
A Plate
Texture Plate
Cardstock - misted with water, mist-side down
tan embossing pad (wizard or similar) x2!
Chipboard shim - from a cereal box i think
B Plate
Love the look, but only if you mist first! I use a heat gun to dry it out, and you can actually press it beneath something heavy without ruining your original impression!

So do you need to buy the impressions pad and the silicone rubber that the SU catalog refers to for the texturz plates?
