Default showmestamper's Nugget Box

oh my! I am so thrilled that you all love my little nuggets boxes! It was not my idea! There are other fabulous Nugget Boxes in the gallery which were my inspirations! Some are for 5 nuggets, some for 4 nuggets.

Attached is the template I created for the three Nugget Box. You can see an example here:

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Please note that the drawing is NOT exactly to scale! Meaning, DO NOT cut out the template and trace it onto the cardstock. I tried (really, I tried...like for hours!) to get it perfectly to scale, but Word is not a drawing-friendly program.

If you use the template and create your own, please post a link here in this thread to your creation in your gallery! I would love to see it!

Some of you have been having troubles with the word document, so I am adding the template here as a .jpg. Again, it is just for a visual reference of where to cut and score.

Here are the written directions:
These adorable little boxes with a sleeve hold three little Hershey Nugget candy bars. You can make one from just a half of sheet of cardstock. They are very easy to make, but take care to measure and score accurately.

BOX:
- Cut the long side of a full sheet of cardstock at 5 . Set one piece aside for another project.
- With the other piece, cut a rectangle 5 by 3 for the box. Cut another rectangle 5 1/8 x 3 1/16 for the sleeve.
- Measure with a ruler and mark as indicated by the thin lines on the template. SCORE along these lines.
- Using scissors, CUT along the double solid lines indicated on the template. Cut and remove the squares that are gray.
- The box has a double walls on each side. Fold up one long edge. Tuck the side flaps next to the outer wall of the long side and adhere. Then fold the inner wall over the side flaps, and adhere. Repeat on the other long edge. Fold in the remaining side flaps and adhere.
SLEEVE:
Measure and mark with a ruler as indicated by the thin lines on the template. SCORE on these lines.
Fold the sleeve around the box and check for fit before adhering the flap.

Notes: I highly recommend making one of these from scrap paper before using cardstock, just to get the hang of it. I like to cut and score the sleeve before I stamp on it, so that I can accurately place the images. You can decorate the little nuggets by stamping on address labels and wrapping the label around the candy.

I hope that helps!

Some ladies are having trouble downloading the word document....the file is empty after they download. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be? I have been emailing the document to those that are having trouble, but surely there is a simple fix, if only we know what it was????

I am tickled pink that you all are having fun with these cute boxes! Please post your creations!

Please let me know if you are still having troubles, and I'll try to help.

Our school is having a bake sale this weekend to raise money for Katrina victims. I was going to make a bunch of these for the sale. But what to price them at?????

What type of "nugget" / Candy fit into the box?

Thanks,

Diane, you lucky gal to find one in your mailbox!

Hershey makes a little candy bar called "Nuggets"....they come a bunch to a bag. There are assortment bags as well as bags of each kind. You should be able to find them at Target, Walmart, etc and probably at your grocery store.

I hope that helps.

Thank you so much for this template. I have had it bookmarked for weeks and finally got around to doing this. I ended up making it for my S10 swap - they are just darling (the boxes, not my S10 group, although they aren't too bad either! LOL!) I was having fun playing with mixing different patterns. I did have a little bit of trouble getting the sleeve to fit well, but I have a not-so-perfect cutter so maybe that was it.

My "sweet" box:
