Our inspiration this week comes from Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine Nov/Dec 2008.
Want to take your pages from standard to stunning? Add some dry embossing to your pages to make them into head-turning creations.
Your challenge is to get out your embossing tools: Cuttlebug embossing templates, Fiskars texture plates, brass stencils, Fiskars Scrap Boss etc., dust them off and "make an impression".
Here is a page that I created using the Cuttlebug Embossing Templates:

Really WANT to play...but I don't have a single tool that does embossing. Maybe I will go digital...I saw some tutorials in Digital Scrapbooking Mag at some point lately. I may just use embossing powder instead. Thanks for the inspiration. Looking forward to joining the group. Have a great week with lots of scrappin' Diana

I like the look of embossing, But the only tool I have is an impressor I used it on a page for my Disney album. I made my own template of mickey's head. I hope you can see the effect in the photo. TFL Late night with Mickey Mouse by taca410 at Splitcoaststampers Thanks Jennipher.

oOOHHHH, I can see it and it's very cool! You're right on top of this challenge--wow!
Jennipher, I did one like this a short while back and will enter that one here just for now.
I love dry embossing and will definitely do a page soon. I have plenty of Cuttlebug embossing folders and some SU brass plates to boot!

Wendy, thanks for sharing that one! It's a great example. My 2 pages above are also from earlier this year. I just love the embossed look and I hope to get another page done to add to the challenge this week. It's a great design element but, I think people often forget to include it in scrappin' .:p
Your page is cute. Although, you might want to try to upload it to the gallery here on SCS so that we can get a better look at it. They have enlarged the image size in the gallery so, it makes it a lot easier to see the details. Just a thought! Plus, everyone will leave you lots of love!
Thanks for playing.;)
If only I had a template! I don't have a single one!!! I've only done heat embossing. :( Great challenge though.
I've taught my group how to dry emboss with punches! As long as you have a stylus you can use any punch. Just slide the paper in like you're going to cut, but trace the shape with the stylus instead...voila!
You can also layer punched pieces over your card stock (tone-on-tone) and you'll have FAUX DRY EMBOSSING! ;)

That's a great idea. I will try that asap

I have been wanting to get this page done and today was the day! I don't have "real" emboss stuff either but I did get a little emboss star punch for a gift I've never used. I wanted to use it for this page. All of the solid stars are embossed and then I punched them out.

When this challenge was first posted, I really wanted to work on it but just didn't have the time. So I'm glad it was brought up again during New Year's Day. Here's mine: Relaxing by eeddmm at Splitcoaststampers With the color of the CS, it was really hard to see the embossing however so I went over the raised parts with a Galaxy Marker to make it stand out better since when I sanded it, the CS was not white core. What brands of paper are? Thanks for the challenge.
