December 2008: Obscure Holidays
If you would like to share cards and projects inspired by random, obscure holidays, make sure to add the keywords listed below. If you make something for multiple challenges, make sure to separate your keywords with commas.
CENTRAL THEME : Most papercrafters spend the latter half of the year preparing for the holidays, making stacks and stacks of cards to mail to family and friends. This month, though, the Dirty Dozen took a break, and made cards and projects to celebrate those lesser-known holidays on the calendar.
Keyword : CT1208.
MORE IS MORE : Take
any project, and show a very minimal simple version + a stepped up version,
Keyword : MIM1208
SKETCH : This sketch from Jessie is attached, too.
Keyword : DSKETCH1208
INSPIRATION :Click the image for more!
Keyword : DINSP1208
Clicking on the keywords (keywords are highlighted in GREY) above will link you to all creations associated with this month's theme(s).

Wondering if someone could post a link to a list of Obscure Holidays. I used to have one, but lost the bookmark.

Here's my take on the sketch as well as the Obscure Holiday Challenge - I went with May 6th's National Teacher's Day. I made a calendar for my sister who is a teacher. I used the sketch as the main panel on the front of the pouch:

Well, who knew there were so many obscure holidays.
I love watching birds, so I made
this in celebration of International Migratory Birds Day. Not that we have a whole load of migratory birds here, and especially not in the garden, so there is a little stay-at-home bird tucked in the bottom looking wistfully up. There is even a sentiment with the Flourishes set that ses *fly away with me*, I suppose I should have fit that in somewhere.
