We all love to get gift cards during the holidays. It's the perfect gift because we get to use them to buy exactly what we want...no returns, no refunds, just plain fun. The technique today will give you a stunning way to present those gift cards (because the ones that the stores provide is, let's face it, just plain dull...and we crafters are anything BUT dull.
I first saw this technique demonstrated on the Hero Art's Club Blog website but since then, I've been seeing these crafty Pop Up Gift Cards literally popping up all over the place. So get your patterned paper and those gift cards and let's get started.
What you'll need:
4 X 12 Piece of patterned paper (or you can make your own by stamping a piece of 4 X 12 piece of cardstock)
4-1/4 X 4-1/4 Square piece of coordinating cardstock (used as mat for mounting the interior of gift card)
Stamps
Ink
Bone Folder
Craft Knife
Adhesive
Take your 4 X 12 piece and score it 4" from one end (horizontal orientation) - flip to the other end and score 4" from that end. This will give you a piece divided into 3- 4" squares
Burnish all score lines with your bone folder
Take the middle square and fold it in half, creating the Pop Up portion of this card in a "hill" -^-
Using your gift card as a guide, cut a slit in the center of middle of your folded piece large enough for your gift card to slide into
Adhere the back side of your pop up portion to your 4-1/4" square piece of cardstock
Embellish as desired
Insert gift card (the important part) *wink*
I hope that you will try one of these EASY, yet adorable, Pop Up Gift Cards. Not only will the recipient be happy to see the gift card pop up as they open it, but they will be impressed by the creative way you have presented it to them.

Morning girls, my niece just announced she wants a gift card for christmas which makes life so easy (and cheap because they're still in England so no extortionate airmail charge for a parcel!). Now just need to put my thinking cap on!!!
Great challenge Lynn, will try it this morning as I am home sick. I can't believe I made the top 10 today!

This is great, Lynn. I was just wondering how to do a nice gift card. Your timing is perfect. I'll have to put on my thinking cap & see what I come up with!
Can I offer another tip for these? We made them at a monthly stamp club meeting and instead of just cutting a slit in the center, we used the word window to cut out a slot for the card - punched it twice to make the space big enough. Then we used a smaller circle (1", maybe) to cut a half moon into the word window cut-out which made a finger space for the receipient to be able to grasp the card. Did that make sense? It's hard to describe, I guess... lol! If I get time tonight, I'll post my card to my gallery so you can see what I mean....
This looks really fun. As soon as I take my kids to school, skip my walk for later, I will start on mine. Thanks!

Okay, okay, I'll try this one after work today. I haven't been doing the Monday challenges because they've been a little intimidating to me lately but I think that maybe I can do this one. Wish me luck. Have a great day everybody and thank you for the challenge Lynn.
So wish i could play today but after the kiddies leave for school i'm off to urgent care as I think I have strep :( Have to get better for Thanksgiving!!
Thanks for the challenge, Lynn.

Reason: can't spell cause i'm sick
Thanks Lynn for this TLC today, I needed to make one anyway and this was just a perfect time. These are just so quick and simple to do. Here is my A CARDINAL CHRISTMAS GIFT CARD HOLDER
Lynn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,how clever. I'll be back in a while with my submission. Late start this morning. The hero arts tutorial is really good. I can see this going in many directions. This would be great for kids to give to parents too. Coupons good for lawn raking or baby sitting or a ride to the doctor for an elderly neighbor. Very timely !!
OK...back in a bit !

Now this I can do! What fun! I will have to get the kiddies off to school and then I will try and get one done! I always love fun ways to present gift cards! Thanks for the great challenge!
I don't get to many of the TLC challenges, but this one was exactly what I needed! My Santa's Workshop class deadline is today and I needed a new gift card holder idea for my sample. Thanks for the perfect timing
