Best price for Copics?
I have read so many things about the Copics and I am looking for a site that has the best prices on them. Does anyone know of one? What colors are the best to start with? I can only afford to get a couple at a time so I want to make the best choices.
Thanks,
Gail

I would say that the best prices come from oozak.com. The way that copics work you need two or three shades of each color that you are going to be using. I would suggest starting with the colors you feel like you will be using the most. I personally don't have the copics, but I have the BIC and Sharpies. I like them right now because the price is right

I used to buy from Carpe Diem until I was shorted a marker and they said it was "impossible" that they made a mistake. They have a sale going on this year on the Copics and seem to have a good amount of stock on hand.
Now I buy from Oozak.com and think they offer a comparable deal. You get free shipping over $50 at Oozak so what you'd save per marker at Carpe Diem, you make up by paying $12+ in shipping. Oozak ships fast and I've not had a problem yet. The only problem is that many times the markers I want are sold out.

Another vote for Oozak.com The owner, Steve, always emails confirmation of the order within an hour of placing it, and he is really quick about shipping. I order $50 worth at a time to get the free shipping. Copic Ciao are $2.63 each, and the original and Sketch are $3.90 each.
As for what colors to start with, go for whatever colors you use the most, and get at least 2 colors in each color family that are 2-3 numbers apart so you can blend.

I have bought my Copic's from the Merri Artist, the prices for the Sketch markers are $4.46, I don't know what they have for free shipping deals, I live in Canada so I don't qualify for free shipping. There services is always quick I usually have my order within 7 days, and that is going through customs.
http://www.merriartist.com/
As for what colors to start out with, I started out with very light greys for shadowing. The "I Like Markers" site is really great for information on how to pick out colors and how to use the markers.

Just remember now that you have decided to get Copic's it is a new addiction but the results that you get with the markers are well worth the cost. Also before you start playing with your markers I would suggest that you have good paper and ink it does make a big difference in the results that you get, my personal preference is the Papertrey 110lb white cardstock and the memento tuxedo black ink. I second this post. I just placed an order with the Merriartist and got my Copics within 2 days. They also have all the colors in stock. (which Oozak doesn't) I also recommend reading the blog Ilikemarkers too....very helpful.
The Papertrey stampers select and the Memento ink is great for the Copics. I'm still playing with everything myself, but wanted to quote this post.

I like www.creativeplaystamps.com
Super fast shipping (free over $50) and yes, they are about 50 cents more than at oozak, however I don't feel like I HAVE to buy 13 at a time, since they carry a ton of other stamping products I use at great prices. So it's easier to get the free shipping!
Plus full nesties sets are on sale for $53-something!!

My mom and I went halves on a set of 72 from www.dickblick.com, it was free shipping and we saved almost $100.
They have good sales, just have to keep an eye out.

Another vote for oozak.com and dickblick. I agree with Danielle1024, I waited for their (Dickblick) sales to get the best price.

If you have a Dick Blick retail store anywhere around you, you will notice they will run several 20% off sales throughout the year for their Preferred Customers...definitely worth looking into, as it puts sketch markers at around $3.80ish.

Oh my goodness! This site is WONDERFUL!! I found everything that has been on my shopping list for months. All those misc. ink refills that I didn't want to order 1 at a time and pay shipping-and the nestabilities sale was awesome. Plus I got free shipping. I'm going to have to stay away from SCS for a while because all these great sales and free shipping offers are going to get me in trouble!

The Frantic Stamper ( www.franticstamper.com) is offering a special on the entire set of Copic "Ciao" markers ... 4 sets of 36 (144 colors in all!) for $499.99 Set includes (4) cases. Her original price is $559.00, so it's quite a savings. I'm still on the fence but leaning towards purchasing -- the nibs can be replaced (she sells those as well as blending solution and ink refills).

I think Oozak were cheaper than that when I got mine however, I got two sets of 72. (so two cases not 4)
Just checked my receipt and they were $189.64 with no S&H for a set of 72 Ciao's
It looks like they are expecting a shipment today/tomorrow as well on Ciaos (there expected shipments are on their front page) HTH

I get mine from copicmarkers.com They're awesome and there is FREE shipping on orders over $50 and you can make your own custom set of 12 on sale for $53.55that comes with a clear plastic holder. You have to e-mail them the colors you want though - which isn't a big deal and you know right away if they have them or not. They also have pre-boxed sets too!
They have fantastic customer service too!
