Hi Rushie.... thought I would come in and share my "Light in The Window" poem that I wrote for a painting I did...The painting is of an old home place with a light shining from the window just at break of dawn...
Painted and written in memory of my Mother who passed away in 1973.
Hope you like the poem...
THe Lighted Window
by Nyoka Smith 2001
In the fast-paced days of my youth
I so often from home would stray,
and be gone till the light had faded
and oft times till the break of day.
In those times my mom would lie reading
and wait and I think sometimes pray
till again all her children were home
and safe in their beds would lay.
Now I wish I could once more see
her sweet face as she lay there
sometimes lightly sleeping
with her hands folded as if in prayer.
To once again find her waiting
it would mean the world, you know
to once more be led homeward
by her light shining from the window.
Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world. ~Virgil A. Kraft
