Hello Everyone!
Here is an example of this week's variety challenge which I hope you will enjoy.. SBVC39 Folded Photo Mat Example
This challenge is a simple three-dimensional embellishment technique using an eyelet; charm; string; and double sided printed paper.
1. Trim the upper right corner of the photo. Mat the photo on double sided printed paper.
2. Fold the corner of the double sided printed paper to the front gently, tring to roll the corner rather than crease it.
3. Set an eyelet in the corner to hold it in place.
4. Tie a charm to a piece of string, twine, or wire. Thread the string throught the eyelet's hole and tape it on the back of the mat so the charm is allowed to hang freely on the front of the photo.
(Technique taken from "Teach Yourself Visually Scrapbooking" by R.Ludens & J. Schmidt, 2006)
You can find all submissions for this challenge here: SBVC39

Here is a close up of the technique I used on my page.

Whew so sorry this challenge took a little longer to post. I had to drop family off at airport this morning and stop by Dunkin Doughnut...okay didn't HAVE to stop at the doughnut shop but couldn't pass it by without checking out the strawberry sprinkle delight!
I know it's a very simple one but think VSN is this weekend & thought ladies who are going to be hanging out making card challenges might need to reserve their energy for the fun.
Very neat but simple idea!!! Can't wait to try it!!

Hey, we all have our priorities!! This is a really cute challenge and simple enough to do. Once I get scrapping again, I'll give this a try! Thanks for guest hosting this week!
thank you for hosting Pattie. Haven't had much scrappy time, but am going to try this for sure! Such a great idea! I like the way the fold fills up "white" space on a picture.

It is definetly a busy time for everyone..me included. I have been mia for many challenges in the weeks past. Getting together with NCarolina gals for planning upcoming swap. Thank you for allowing me to post a challenge.
i really liked this challenge! I love this technique but never remember to use it. Thank you for the motivation! It's a simple thing that adds a lot to a card or page. I tweaked the idea just a little bit for my page. Thanks for guest hosting and for the beautiful example page.
