Wet Watercolor Crayons

by Beate Johns

Use the new SU! Watercolor Wonder™ Crayons directly on your stamps for a great watercolored look

Supplies

  • Watercolor Paper
  • Watercolor Crayons
  • Water Mist Bottle
  • Waterproof Ink (Optional)
  • Solid Stamps

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Pick a pretty solid stamp and two or three watercolor crayon colors. Take the lightest color and apply it directly onto your stamp. If it is hard to apply the crayon to your stamp, dampen the rubber a little bit.

  2. Step 2

Take the next color and apply some shading to the stamp. I colored the outsides of the flower with ruby red.

  3. Step 3

If you picked a third color, apply it now. I used chocolate chip for the center of the flower.

  4. Step 4

Hold your stamp about 6-8 inches from you and spray it with one or two sprays from your water mist bottle.

  5. Step 5

Stamp your image onto watercolor paper.

  6. Step 6

Keep repeating steps 1 - 5 until you have filled your paper with images.

  7. Step 7 (Optional)

If you have a two step image, stamp your outline image with waterproof ink. I used basic brown classic ink to stamp the outlines..

  8. Step 8 (Optional)

Add speckles and sponging if wanted.

  9. Step 9

    Finish your card.

Variations

    Wet Paper
Instead of moistening the stamp, use the mist bottle to wet your paper before stamping on it.
