Misting With Markers

by Beate Johns

Use waterbased markers to add multiple colors to an image.

Supplies

  • Waterbased markers

  • Water misting bottle

  • Stamp here, Essence of Love by SU!

  • Cardstock

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

With stamp rubber side up, color the image with a marker.

  2. Step 2

Continue to color with the marker until everything in this color has been covered.

It's helpful to start with the lightest color first.

  3. Step 3

Continue to color your image with other colored markers until the entire image is colored.

  4. Step 4

Spray the image with water mist bottle.
The more you spray, the more the ink will run when you stamp.

Hint: Hold the stamp in one hand and the misting bottle in the other, with hands about 12" apart. Spray a couple of times.

You can also spray water into the air first, then move your image through to make sure the stamp doesn't get too wet.

  5. Step 5

    Stamp image on cardstock.

  6. Step 6

    Finished card.

I have been unable to locate this stamp you used. It's very pretty. Can you tell me what Stampin Up set it is in.
Just email me using the address above.
Thanks.

very cool. I got this stamp set yesterday. Do you just use an old hairspray type mister? I don't think SU sells the bottles.
This makes a "gojus" (Jan Tink ism) image.
Thanks so much

I'm curious if you could do this after you had stamped the image, rather than coloring it in. Some of us demonstrators don't have the markers yet......
Linda  |  Wed Mar 26, 2008 at 9:20 PM
Linda,
If you don't have the markers, you can always use Poppin' Pastels to add colors to your image after stamping it with VersaMark.

What a great delicate card - I can't wait to try this technique. I got little mister bottles at Michaels. They come three to a pack and the mist is really fine. Keep the great ideas coming.
