Glitter Window

by Beate Johns

This is a quick and easy technique for a sparkly card.

Supplies

  • Clear packing tape

  • One or more punches to make your window(s)

  • Dazzling Diamonds™ glitter (or any other non-colored, fine glitter)

  • Cardstock to make window

  • Neutral cardstock to put underneath window (slightly smaller layer)

  • Cardstock to finish the card

  • Double-sided tape

  • Stamps

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1

Punch one or more windows into your cardstock. My cardstock strip measured 2 1/4" x 4".

  2. Step 2

Lay "window" cardstock over the neutral cardstock. My neutral cardstock piece was 2 1/8" x 3 7/8".

  3. Step 3

Stamp the images you want to see through the window onto your neutral cardstock. If you just have one window, just stamp it on a bigger piece of neutral cardstock and trim it later. If you have several windows like in this example, stamp your images through the windows.

  4. Step 4

    Decorate the window cardstock.

  5. Step 5

Flip window cardstock over and apply packing tape over the windows. The sticky side of the packing tape will face the stamped side of the cardstock.

  6. Step 6

Rub glitter over the sticky side of the packing tape.

  7. Tap off excess glitter and put it back in the container.

  8. Step 7

Flip window cardstock around again and add double-sided tape.

  9. Step 8

Line up neutral cardstock under the window cardstock and tape together.

  10. Step 9

    Finish your card.

Variations

    Just use one window.

    Cut window with Coluzzle™.
