Ghosting

by Beate Johns

Another name for Versamark™ resist, this technique's not scary at all!

Supplies

  • Glossy white cardstock

  • Versamark™

  • Brayer

  • Classic ink

  • Stamps

Step-by-Step

  1. Step 1 (Optional)

Using Classic ink, stamp a background on glossy cardstock and let dry. This background will show up under your resist image.

  2. Step 2

Stamp images in Versamark™ on your glossy cardstock. Everything stamped in Versamark will resist the ink applied in the next step.

  3. Step 3

Apply ink over your images. I used a brayer, but you can sponge ink over them as well.

  4. Step 4

Continue to apply ink over cardstock until you have a smooth coverage.

  5. Step 5

Buff cardstock with a paper towel or napkin. The ink over your Versamark images will rub off.

  6. Step 6

    Finish your card.

I love this look and it seems quite simple and really fun... the glossy card stock is the key thing here right... besides the Versamark.
My brain is a buzz with various looks, to try with this.

This sounds interesting, but what is "classic ink"? Do you mean dye ink? Or do you mean permanent ink?

Debbie,

Classic inks are Stampin' Up!'s dye inks. Definitely don't use permanent inks for this.

Response to Nina: you can use any dye ink. Marvy ink, Jo-ann has their trade name. However, I would highly recommend SU ink.

Also, Nina, Versamark is available in craft stores. It could also be called embossing ink or clear embossing ink.

It works on regular cardstock, too, not just glossy.
