Melody Rupple - mrupple
My name is Melody Rupple, known as mrupple here at Splitcoaststampers. I have always regretted not picking a more exciting username, but frankly back when I set up an account I never imagined I would EVER upload a card! To be here today, as a member of the Dirty Dozen, is truly unbelievable! I considered the Dirty Dozen a far-reaching goal and have so admired the work of these talented stampers.
I am always excited when I get a private message for someone on the site! But when I received a message from Jenn, I was shocked. She said she liked my gallery and would like me to call her. I just kept thinking, “Jenn noticed MY gallery!!” I can truly say I was speechless when she asked me if I would like to be one the Dirty Dozen. I managed to get out a “YES” but I can’t remember the last time I was so surprised, shocked, and honored by anything!
I am a native Californian, born in Los Angeles. I did live in South America for a while when I was young; my dad was a petroleum engineer. But other than that small detour, California has always been home. I grew up in Orange County. I went to college there, met and married my wonderful husband, and moved to San Diego. I have been married for 26 years. We have four daughters who have either finished college and are living on the own or are away at college. I work full time in the accounting field, managing grants that address the issues of children with special needs in an inclusive environment.
I have always been crafty. I learned to sew when I was in my teens, made prom dresses, and went on to sew for my girls. I still have the simple scrapbooks I made in high school. I started making family scrapbooks when my children were young. Like everyone else, I went to a Stampin’ Up! party and discovered stamping and card making. On an internet search, I discovered Splitcoaststampers, and the rest is history. All the on-line shopping, tutorials, challenges, forums, blogging... I have become obsessed!
I have to say that the best part of discovering Splitcoaststampers is all the friends I have made here. I am so happy to have someone to share my love for all things paper with! Thank you Jenn for this incredible opportunity! I am so honored to be included in the Dirty Dozen.
