Lisa Strahl - Mona Lisa
Hello Splitcoaststampers! You are a dedicated and addicted bunch and I love you for it!
My name is Lisa Strahl and I too am addicted (in the healthiest possible way, of course
I was born and raised in Western Canada and now live near the British Columbia Coast with my dear husband, son and 2 kitties that are always up to no good. Beyond stamping I enjoy a good read, especially suspense thrillers. My DH makes fun of me that I can't figure out what is going on until the end! I also have a special place in my heart for horses. Growing up on a farm gave me the chance to raise and show horses through my teen years. That experience has been something I have drawn on time and time again. I am also an avid fisherman and I live in one of the best parts of the world for fishing!
When I discovered this form of creative expression just 2 years ago, I knew I had found my home. Creativity has always flowed through me in whatever work or hobby had my attention. A girlfriend encouraged me to give stamping and paper crafting a chance and the rest is history. There is no doubt that SCS is the single largest reason that I spend so many waking hours with my head in the clouds, dreaming about what to create next!
When Julie asked if I would like to join the ranks of the Dirty Dozen, I darn near tore her arm off before she had a chance to change her mind. *grin* My reasons for euphoria might have been slightly different than some of these uber-talented gals already on the Dirt Pile. The DD is going to be a sabbatical of sorts from the publishing world. My hobby has become my life's work and I love it! That said, there are two challenges: I often design within very tight guidelines that can limit my creative energy and I can't share the majority of work publicly for 8-12 months. My hope is that I can create my very best work every 30 days or so and inspire you in your creative pursuits!
I would be remiss if I did not pay homage to those who have inspired me to reach for higher heights. Two Dirty Dozen Alumni were of particular influence to me in the early days - Carolina and leslierich. Caroline Stender's color combinations and original style captured my heart and helped me to decide to follow my own creative spirit. There is a card in this month's gallery that is dedicated to her. I plan to create one card a month that is inspired by someone who has encouraged my creative spirit.
Thanks so much for having me; I promise to give you all I have got! :D
