Lisa Lara - Lisa Lara

I’m Lisa Lara and I’m sooooooooooooooo delighted (you don’t even know) to be on the Dirty Dozen . “No Way” repeated probably a hundred times was my reaction to Lydia’s Dirty Dozen invite. I still cannot believe it. “NO WAY”! Hee.

I have lived in here in Washington state all my life with the exception of a three year period when I lived in Maryland. I met my wonderful husband of 23 years there. We moved back here so I can be close to my family (what a nice hubby).

We have two boys (men, but they’ll always be my “boys”). One in the Marines and the other is a senior this year in High School. We are just months away from being empty nesters. Not sure how I like that idea yet.

I’ve made my own cards all my life. I drew all my own images. Until I was introduced to stamping by attending a Stampin’ Up! workshop years ago. I began stamping SERIOUSLY in 2008. I’ve always had a simple style. It took me awhile to embrace stamping because I thought by using stamps that everyone is using my cards would not stand out.

When I joined SCS, I found out I was dead wrong while browsing the gallery. Everyone seemed to still have their own style while using the same images. I love SCS. I have met the nicest people and continue to learn techniques etc.

Stamping has become therapy for me. I am challenged by chronic illnesses. Stamping brings me great joy and helps me stay positive. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Hee.

I am so honored to be apart of the Dirty Dozen team and have the opportunity to grow more. Thank you to all of you SCS’rs. I continue to be inspired by your creations and your kindness.
