Lisa Henke - lisahenke
SHUT UP!!! Yep, those were the words that flew out of my mouth when Lydia asked ME to join the Dirty Girls. I tell my boys not to say those words and here I am,saying them to Lydia, who I was speaking with for the first time. But, OMG! I can't tell you how flippin' excited I am to be part of this amazing, talented, elite, group of stampers! It truly is a dream come true. I think every day this past month I have pinched myself and went back to see if that email is still in my inbox! LOL! Thank you, thank you , THANK- OU!
Hello, I'm Lisa Henke, also known as yep, lisahenke. Sometimes I wish I had come up with something more original, witty, and fun - but hey I'm all those things, right?
Seriously, I never would have thought when I logged onto SCS that I would still be here all these years later - I sure am glad for it, though!
I'm a Midwest girl all the way. I was born in Monroe, Michigan and then moved on to Ann Arbor, where I attended college at the University of Michigan. (Go Blue! ) I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology. My last two years of college, I worked as a waitress in a popular microbrewery in town and that's where I met my now hubby, Tim. He was finishing his residency, and I was finishing my undergrad, and when we were both done, I moved down to Cincinnati, Ohio with him, which is where he grew up. We've been here ever since. This summer we will celebrate our ten year anniversary!
Before kids, I sold pharmaceuticals and right before our first son was born, I retired (as my DH likes to say). We now have three beautiful boys - eight, six, and three! I am blessed to be able to stay home with them. It's the toughest job I've ever had, but I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. Plus, it allows me to stamp when I want - not a bad deal.
Like many of us, my stamping started with a Stampin' Up! workshop. Yep, I was hooked from the first moment! That was about eleven years ago, and it took me almost seven years to really become obsessive and passionate about it. Now there is rarely a day that goes by when I don't create something. In a house full of boys, it allows me to really show my girly side. I love making cards, and scrapbook pages, and recently discovered that home-decor/3-D items are just as fun to create, too.
I post almost daily on my blog. I love to share what I make and if I can inspire someone else, then that makes me happy! Lord knows, I am grateful for all the amazing inspiration out there in blogland!
So that's me in a nutshell. I am so glad to be able to finally shout this exciting news from the roof tops - EEEE! I can't believe I'm a Dirty Girl, and BOY, does it feel good. I look forward to sharing my passion with you all over the next 6 month. HUGS.
