Jami Sibley - jami
When I got the PM from Julie inviting me to join the DDDT I was absolutely beside myself! I was dying to tell someone, but aaaacccckkkkk it was a secret from all of my fabulous SCS buddies. So I called my husband at work and told him and asked 'Should I do it?". His response was 'Are you kidding? The Dirty Dozen? Of course you should do it!" So (after a few more nervous PM's with Julie) here I am.
My name is Jami Sibley (Jami on SCS). I'm 44 years old and have been married to my wonderful husband Curt (the rocket scientist) for 15 years coming up in November. We share our home with three amazing birds: Beaker (14 year old Red Fronted Macaw), Parsley (13 year old Lovebird), and R.B. (12 year old Green Winged Macaw). They bring incredible joy to our lives. I have lived in Southern California my entire life and I love it here. I work as a Collection Supervisor at a medical billing company and just recently changed my hours from full to part time. Besides stamping one of my favorite things to do is plan and organize events and I'm often involved in planning events for our adult Sunday School Class at our church.
I have always been crafty, but never considered my self artistic. As a child I always made Christmas gifts for everyone in the family and I loved crafts of all kinds - painting statuary, paper tole, scrapbooking, painting shirts, and who could forget the lace and dried flower crafts of the late 70's?! LOL! I started collecting rubber stamps in college and for years had a drawer full of them along with a couple of Kaleidacolor pads to stamp on my outgoing mail. I had no idea you could actually create anything with them, until the Spring of 1998 when I took a Stamping 101 Class offered through our city's Parks and Rec Dept. I was hooked! Then Christmas of that year my best friend, Ruth, gave me my first SU set (Nature's Christmas) and a Stampin' Up Catalog. It was love at first sight! I hosted parties, joined a Club and was an all-around great customer for several years. I found a true love of card making and gradually all the other crafts were pushed aside. Finally in August 2003 I took the plunge and became a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
I found SCS in June of 2004 (thanks JanTInk) and I never left. I love being involved in this great community. My stamping has improved and evolved tremendously through playing the challenges as well as the influence of so many talented artists generously sharing their work here. Thank you to the Noltas and to Jenn and Beate and Julie and everyone who works so hard to make SCS available and such a great place to play! Thanks for the opportunity to jump in the Dirt Pile!
