My name is Cheryl, and I am a Dirty Girl! Wow! I’m so excited! I never saw it coming and never, ever thought I would be in the Dirty Dozen – really! It took me days to actually say it out loud!

Like so many others, I received a message from Lydia. I gasped at first, and then I said, no way! I re-read her message and then did my “homework” about her question. Surely I had to be prepared to help her! It’s Lydia!! When we spoke, we talked about some great ideas. She pulled me in “hook, line, and sinker.” Then she said something about wanting me to be on the Dirty Dozen, and I went silent. What? She asked whether I was still there, I mumbled, she laughed, and I cried! And the more I cried and tried to talk, the more she laughed! Lydia, you really are sneaky!

Thank you so much, Lydia, for this fabulous opportunity to “play” with these unbelievably talented, creative, and wonderful gals! What an honor and blessing! SCS is an amazing community and has been a place where I have met so many friends who have inspired, encouraged, and loved me.

I have been a crafter since I was a child – from sewing to stained glass and lots more in between. Obviously, I’ve been a quilter, but my craft room is now totally dominated by stamping. I started stamping after being invited to a Close To My Heart party. But when I found Stampin’ Up and then Splitcoastampers in 2005, it changed my life! The resources and ideas drew me in, along with the encouragement and inspiration from other stampers! And of course, I now have stamps from more companies than I can count (and I know I’m not alone, right?).

I am married to the sweetest and kindest man, who also loves the Lord and who has been my biggest encourager and enabler. We have three sons and two grandsons. I was born and raised in New Jersey. We now live in South Florida, love the warm climate, and never want to see snow again. I also have a love for anything to do with technology and surprise many people younger than I am at how much I know – it’s fun to see their reactions!

Nearly a year ago, Chris Olsen invited me to be a Guest Designer for Our Daily Bread Designs, and now I am blessed to be on the ODBD Challenge Team and love serving with all the wonderful ODBD gals. Last year I started my blog, CherylQuilts, where I love to share my faith and encourage others through stamping. I have connected with many wonderful friends throughout the world, and it continues to be a joy to share, encourage, and pray for them. Some have become very dear friends and are like family to me! Oh, and I really do love to hug IRL!

I truly never dreamed I would be a Dirty Girl. Thank you again, Lydia, for this unbelievable honor! And thank you all for welcoming me! I am so deeply grateful. SCS is the most incredible place to be inspired and make friends, and most importantly, connect with each other on a deeper, more personal level – sharing and caring for each other! I love gals throughout the world with whom I’ve developed close friendships on SCS, and I look forward to making even more! You have all touched my heart deeply!

Everyone says the time will fly on the Dirt Pile! So here we go! Warm hugs to all! SDG!
