Cathy McCauley - cathymac
Philadelphia, PA
The phone call I received last month caught me totally off guard. To say that I was surprised would be a huge understatement! By the time Lydia got around to popping THE question, I couldn't believe my ears...my hearing is not what it used to be. LOL! I was stunned! All I can say is that I am extremely honored and humbled to be joining the ranks of the "Dirty Girls." SQUEEEEE!!

My name is Cathy McCauley (A.K.A. Cahymac here at SCS), and I live with my husband, Mike, and my 2 year old olden retriever, Kody, in Pennsylvania Dutch Country. I am best known here by my avatar, our handsome golden, Casey, who passed over the "Rainbow Bridge" 2 1/2 years ago. I am a Christian, and very involved with my church. When I'm not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, and taking long walks with Mike and Kody.

My introduction to stamping began, like many of you, at a Stampin' Up! demonstration over 20 years ago. Although I've dabbled in many crafts throughout the years, this one stuck. I was a "Hobby Demonstrator" for quite a few years until I discovered SCS in 2005. It took months of looking around before I finally mustered up enough courage to upload my first card, and instantly became hooked. I enjoy participating in the challenges and have learned so much from my stamping heroes! My style, if I have one, is rather eclectic and evolving since when I see something I like, I have to try it out. I love to color, enjoy matching colors and patterns, and like trying new techniques and folds. My creations almost always include stitching of some kind, pearls, and seam binding. I love using the cards I create to encourage and bless family and friends.

My creative journey took an amazing turn two years ago when I retired after teaching elementary school for 35 years. I now had more time to dedicate to stamping. I've met some amazing friends here, one of which is Korin Sutherland, owner and illustrator of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. She gave me my first chance to serve on a design team, and since we live so close together, I've had the opportunity to join her at shows all along the East Coast. This was also the beginning of my blogging experience. I've learned so much about this industry from her...Thank you, Korin...Mwaaaa!

Currently I'm serving on design teams for two wonderful stamp companies, Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and Our Daily Bread Designs. I also help to host several challenges here at SCS.

I want to thank Lydia and all the "Dirty Girls" for welcoming me to the "Dirt Pile." I pray that I can use my time on the DD Team to inspire you the way you've all inspired me! Hugs!
