Can someone please pinch me because I cannot believe I am here and introducing myself as a Dirty Dozen Designer! I never thought being a part of Splitcoaststampers was possible. Just like most of you, I browsed the forums and galleries when I first started stamping and making cards. I did not know what to think! There were so many amazing ideas floating out there. I lurked around for months before I created my own gallery, then blog, and later a card making obsession!

Over 30 years ago, I was born in Lakenheath RAFB, England to two beautiful and loving parents and one sister. Although I only lived in the UK for about 4 months, I still try to claim England from time-to-time! I grew up in southern Maryland and engaged in many crafts, such as oil painting (when I thought I could be Bob Ross and paint 'pretty little trees'), making hair accessories, and even designing clothes. In high school, I started a scrapbook. At the time, there were no scrapbook aisles at MJ Designs (now Michaels) or other local scrapbook stores, so I used magazine clippings, markers, pipe cleaners, sequins, and whatever else I could find to embellish my book. Today, I still have it, but am too embarrassed to share!

After high school, I was ready to leave Maryland, I ventured off to Greensboro, North Carolina to undertake my undergraduate studies and totally forgot about scrapbooking. I received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and Management. Not knowing what to do next in life, I pursued a Master in Business Administration at the University of Baltimore. Still puzzled and definitely not ready to enter the workforce, I took the LSAT and scored just good enough to get into law school. I went back to North Carolina (this time Raleigh) to learn the law (or so I thought). I disliked law school and during one of my many escapes found a local scrapbook store. My jaw dropped and eyeballs popped out of their sockets. Immediately, I felt all crafty again. I started slowly making a scrapbook here or there.

In between time, I dated my now husband McArthur and we married after law school. We moved to northern Virginia, where we currently reside with our Yorkshire Terrier, Ozzy. I wanted to scrapbook our wedding, so I looked more into the hobby. I found the online world of paper crafting and the rest is history. I have been making cards and stamping for almost two years. During that time, I discovered that it is not a hobby, but my passion in life. I am grateful to have the time and energy to paper craft and look forward to it almost every day.

When I am not paper crafting, I enjoy traveling and photography with McArthur. I also enjoy trying new recipes, cooking, and entertaining (but, only when I'm in the mood)! Most days, you will find me at my job where I am a Legal Editor for a non-profit tax publisher. As soon as I am finished with my day job, I dive head first into crafting!

I'm so excited about the next few months and the challenges I face being a Dirty Girl! I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be a part of such a prestigious group of crafters.
