WT108 - On your Mark...
This week it's time for another rerun amd this week your are going to leave your mark, by using markers. So many fun and interesting ways of using markers and mine tend to be left in the drawer unless I need to write something. This week, pull them out and have fun using them! We are limiting this challenge to water-based markers or the more permanent kind such as Sharpie, or even the brand new Prismacolor markers that I have yet to lay my eyes on!
Now here's a news flash...you may be able to get extra value out of this challenge. Have you check out the Craft Critique blog yet? After making your project, you may want to venture over. They have been doing articles on various markers etc. and are now inviting you to join in their Marker Carnival. For all the details, check it out here.
If you are looking for ideas, you may want to check out the original WT41 marker challenge. I also have a marker tip sheet attached to that thread!
My example using Markers and the Color Spritzer
The Sweetest Flower
Please remember to put WT108 in your keywords section and post a link back here. If you wish to post a previously uploaded card, please limit it to one and make sure that you play along and make a new one!
Thanks so much for joining me and playing along!

Ooooh, I LOVE using my markers, so this one is right up my alley! Looks like I'll be skipping lunch again and going home to make a card. Good thing I live very close to my office!

You can use the gelly roll pens in addition to the markers. Does that work?

Oh, fun one, Julia. I use my markers ALL the time. Most often for faux stitching, but other stuff, too.
****For those of you who say you have NO markers:::: Do your kids have markers like crayola? You can use those on your stamps and cards!
Can you tell I've been there? Done that? My sister and I did that before we owned any SU markers.

Yep, I have NO markers, not even kids ones, they end up writing on my furniture, the roof of the card, etc. I am going to use the blender pen though. I love it!

I was just wondering if my girls' crayola markers would work. Now I know they do and don't have to go check it out on one of the old icky kids stamps. Why have I never thought of using their markers for stamps before? Of course this means I have to leave room on the end of the table for them to color too. Can't wait to get started, but I think I'll use this as a reward for when I finish getting us all ready for the day.

I love my markers too and use them all the time. Love the fine tip for Faux stitching. Not recommended for young grandchild use though. My sweet Natalie ruined several of mine, so I had to replace and then bought her her own 'cheap' ones from Walmart.

I did a search on yahoo and found this. Is this what you mean?
1. Ink your stamp up with a light colored inkpad. The stamps that work best are bold/solid.
2. For the next step use 2-3 colors of markers that you think would look pretty against the inkpad.
3. Take the cap off the brush tip end of the marker....& tap the side of the brush tip on the bold inked image. Repeat with other colors.
4. Huff on the image & stamp. You now have a multicolored image (tie-dyed or marbleized look).
